How A Vehicle Accident Led to a Simple Way
to Manage Personal Health Information

In 2001 my dad suffered a life-threatening injury as a result of an all-terrain vehicle accident. Emergency personnel asked numerous questions, some of which we could not accurately answer. During my dad's lengthy hospital stay our family became overwhelmed by medical information. I eventually built an organized health record to help us stay on top of things.

Thankfully, my dad recovered from his injuries. Years later, when my parents were in an auto accident, we were prepared. When emergency personnel needed health details from us, my sister simply handed them my parents' journals from the trunk of the car.
